Water Heating

Three of the most popular questions that people ask us are:

What does it look like on my home?
How much does it cost?
Do I have to change my lifestyle?

Answer to Question 1

The collectors are typically eight feet long and four feet wide. They weigh about ninety pounds and mount directly to the roof or the ground. We founded our company on roofing so we know how to attach the collectors securely to the roof without causing any leaks.

Answer to Question 2

Solar water heating systems do not cost anything. They are an investment because you get valuable tax credits and a significant reduction in your monthly utility bill. You save additional money because gas and electric rates rise over time. Solar water heating systems are a great deal for you and the environment. The exact price of your system depends upon the system you choose to install in your home. We need to perform a solar site survey so that we can design the system that is right for you.

Answer to Question 3

You do not have to change your lifestyle. Thanks to the design you actually increase the amount of hot water that is available for your use. The system hooks directly into your existing water heating system to ensure a steady supply of hot water for your home.

The system works even when it is cloudy outside because the fluid inside the collector still heats up somewhat. The fluid gets hot enough to get your tap water up to 90 degrees. Your existing water heater kicks in and finishes heating the water to the standard 125 degrees. Preheating the water to 90 degrees greatly reduces the amount of energy that your existing water heater requires.
